List of Authorized Farmers Markets
The SFMNP provides low-income seniors with $40 in checks to purchase fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from authorized farmers' markets. Additional resources in the form of nutrition educational materials including recipes, nutrient values, food preparation and storage information are also provided.
LMTAAA contracts with Senior Services for South Sound to provide SFMNP services in Thurston and Mason Counties. Eligibility: age 60+ (if American Indian or Alaskan Native 55+) and at or below 185% Federal Poverty Level ($1,670/mo single or $2,246/mo couple).
A photo ID is required for verification of name and age.
No income verification is required, other than the eligible participant’s signature attesting income eligibility is met.
SFMNP checks are distributed on a first come/first serve basis at pre-identified sites throughout Lewis, Mason and Thurston Counties.
Eligible participants must be present and sign to receive SFMNP checks. However, once received, a family member or caregiver may redeem SFMNP checks on the eligible participant’s behalf.
Eligible participants will recieve one set of SFMNP checks valued at $40 for the 2010 season, redeemable June - October.
