ASSISTED LIVING AND BOARDING HOMES

Assisted Living facilities vary considerably in services offered. Each facility is different and may provide services such as bathing, dressing and assistance with medications in addition to room, board, housekeeping, laundry and recreational activities. Each resident may have a private or semi-private apartment-like unit with a private or shared bathroom. Many also provide social services, transportation and medical
personnel on staff.

These facilities house 6 or more residents and are designed for persons who need assistance and/or supervision with daily activities. They offer board, room, medication management, arranging for medical services if necessary, and coordinating transportation to community services. There may be no medical personnel on staff.
