SKILLED NURSING AND REHABILITATION FACILITIES

In the State of Washington skilled nursing facilities are licensed, certified, and surveyed by DSHS. These facilities provide 24 hour nursing care, personal care, therapy, supervised nutrition, organized activities, social and laundry services, as well as room and board in an environment regulated by building and life safety codes. In addition to caring for private pay patients, nursing centers may be certified to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs, or to contract with the Veterans' Administration for care to eligible veterans. Several nursing centers provide specialized care for mentally and/or developmentally disabled individuals. DSHS will provide a list of current facilities and the latest survey.
